FIRST VACATION - ONE MONTH

Kate went on her first vacation to Lake Norris in Tennessee with her friend Baby Cana Peters, who is 3 weeks older than she.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous about taking a one month old on a boat. But I don't believe in living in fear. So, I bought Kate a life jacket and off we went. She really only wore it as a comfy baby bed, but isn't it adorable!

Andrew taught Brett about fly fishing - go Brett with a score on his first time out!

Lake Norris is gorgeous. An athlete I am not, but I love being out on the water and wake boarding is the best!

My grandma, who likes to be known as "G. Nana" to Kate and those in her 'hood, came for a visit at 2 weeks. What fun :)

WEEK 2 - MIRACLE

This whole thing is a miracle. God, thank you for making me a mom. Thank you for this miraculous gift.

They say babies don't smile until 2 months, but this looks like a smile to me.

Kate has been expressive right from the start. She has a lot to say.

WHY ARE WE HERE
Why do I want to blog right now? 1) It's an electronic time capsule for Kate's life so we can look back and see how she's growing 2) Sometimes interesting and funny stuff happens to me, and I can write it here to share it. My goal is to blog once a week. Maybe I'll pick a day once I get a rhythm. If I like it, I'll do it more. But a realistic goal is good.

Kate is 3 months old, and I'm going to try to catch up briefly on the past 3 months. This is for my benefit, so don't feel obligated to look at it all. But it will be fun for me.
